Your body doesn’t know the difference between supramaximal contractions achieved in the gym or with Emsculpt. In fact, Emsculpt doesn’t just give you faster results with zero effort, but it’s also safer. It’s no secret that weight training can be dangerous. One wrong move and you can suffer a strain or sprain that can take weeks to heal. More serious injuries can be debilitating and may require physical therapy or even surgery to correct them. Emsculpt is safe and effective while also saving you time and effort.

 

What to expect:

Each of the four areas takes just 30 minutes to treat. Just like “regular” strength training (which, in many ways, is essentially what Emsculpt is), it will take time to see results. Muscles get “toned,” or in other words get bigger (hypertrophy), due to controlled healing. Supramaximal contractions create tiny, safe tears in the muscle fibers. As the muscles heal, they get bigger, providing the results you want. It will take several days or weeks to see results, but there are best practices you can follow to maximize these results.

Muscles need to be “fed” in order to heal and grow bigger. Plan to consume between 20 – 30 grams of protein immediately after your Emsculpting session, as well as staying hydrated. Protein and water will help your muscles not only get more tone and enlarged but also will reduce soreness. Remember, just because you aren’t lifting weights in the gym doesn’t mean your muscles aren’t getting a serious workout.

However, it is common to feel DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) the day after Emsculpting. This is normal and is evidence that Emsculpt is working. If you don’t feel sore, that’s okay, too. If you’re used to working out regularly, lift weights, are a yogi, or have a physically demanding job, your muscles are probably already used to contractions. You’ll still achieve incredible results, but with the bonus of not being as sore as someone who isn’t as active.
